Porto Gelato: Day 6 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Today’s painting is a good example of how I find subject matter  I had a story I wanted to tell, but didn’t know what building would help me tell that story.

Drawing Talent: Porto Gelato

I walked downtown and was looking at sights and wasn’t quite satisfied.  Then, I saw my neighbor and proprietress of “Funky Fashions” in downtown Talent.  We had a chat.  As I started to walk away, I looked across the street at “Porto Gelato”.  Perfect!

Porto Gelato is a new business in our town.  It is family owned.  Italian ice cream, what could be better?

So, I sat down and enjoyed myself.  Later, my husband and I came back and sampled their gelato. It was delicious. We will have to try it again!

PS.  I did a watercolor sketch of Funky Fashions last May.  Here’s the link to my “Funky Fashions”; please take a look!

  1. Hello Margaret. I am the owner of Porto Gelato. I love your watercolor of our little shop and would love to get a copy if possible. I would like to frame it and display it in the shop with your name on it. Let me know your thoughts on this.

    Thanks, Garry

By the way, since this article posted, my husband and I have been back to Porto Gelato in Talent, much to our enjoyment!
